Mid life upgrade to an already good product
Got this to replace it's predecessor. The replacement of the saw blade is an excellent step. The replacement saw is actually a carbide edged jigsaw blade - uses one of the two types of blade commonly found in your DIY. So if the blade breaks, you cna go to Screwfix / Toolstation / Wickes / B&Y / etc, and buy a new pack of 3 or 5, or whatever. You can also replace the blade with a wood or normal metal cutting blade if you prefer. The wire cutter jaws use a 3 sided indexable inset on each side. I'm not familiar with modern machine centre replaceable tip tooling, but there is a good chance the inserts are common off-the-shelf there too (but you won't get those from the local DIY!!!). Not looked to see if spares are readily available. Either way, absolutely excellent revisions to a benchmark design. Hope this lasts 20+ years before I loose it!
