Needs all the features of the old timer.
The timer works as a timer just find and feeds at the correct time My complaint is it has no wires for a solar cell connection and I am no longer able to enter the pounds of feed in the container. This timer does not give me an estimate of the number of days the feeder will feed. My old feeder held the feed in a metal bucket supplied by Moultrie. It did not do a great job of estimating how long the feed would last. By reducing the number of pounds I would show for a full feeder, I could come close to knowing how long the feed would last.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works but clock runs slow.
I bought this timer to replace the one on my Moultre Pro feeder, which can run two 6v batteries. This timer is only wired to run off one battery, which really isn't a problem. I did however have to remove the backplate of the timer in order to get it to mount properly on the Pro feeder. The real problem is that the new timer looses about 30 seconds every day, so I have to reset the time every so often or it gets too far out of whack. It was the only replacement timer I could find that would work with the Pro feeder so I will have to live with it. My old timer would only lose about 5 seconds a day, but you would think by now, they could make something that would keep better time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Too expensive
The timer is great. Seems like they only last for a couple of years though in my experience. The price is way too expensive for what you get. The timer went out on my feeder and the price of the timer is more than half of the total cost of the feeder itself. The timer probably cost less than $10 to make and sells for almost $40. Moultrie replacement timer
The replacement timers have been working fine, so far (just got them this year). Although they look almost the same, they do not fit in the feeders very well and will not bolt up where the original timers did. The replacement timers cost almost as much as the complete feeder, so they are not a good value. Its a shame the timers that came in the feeders do not last.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Replacement timer
This unit matched up perfectly to the original screw holes on my Moultrie pro feeder I had to splice the wires from my motor which was no problem; the connection was supplied with the unit. Funny you should ask, I just shipped two timers back to be repaired, I have had very good luck with this product until now. I don't know what happened to them, looks like the screen has fogged up.
