I already own and nex-5n which is an excellent camera and 2 Sony a5000 which are also excellent cameras. I really wanted a camera, having sold my Sony A7, that had an optical viewer and this is absolutely ideal for what I needed. There are an old camera that still command what I consider too much money unless you already have lenses for it. Having said that it's a lovely camera that is easy to carry around and won't wear your arm out unless you have a huge lens on it. I give this camera five stars because to be honest you have to pay an awful lot of money out to get one that's considerably better in my view.

I bought this after using the excellent Nex-5 with older SLR manual lenses (canon nFD). This was specifically so that I can use the Electronic View Finder (EVF) on the Nex-6 for sunny days, as I found the rear screen is difficult to see when out and about now the winter has passed. The Sony menu structure is not as easy to navigate as the Nex-5, but easier than the a6000 (which I have also used). It is fine to use though after a bit of practice. I really like the artificial horizon on the 6 that the other two cameras don't offer. The camera also works excellently with Sony e-mount modern lenses. Excellent camera
I love the mirrorless system, it is so much more compact and lighter than a "standard" DSLR without losing any of the quality. I currently use 18-55 and a 55-210 lens on the camera which I had on my previous Sony Nex-5. This Nex-6 is an upgrade giving me an eyepiece viewfinder. I wanted this because in very bright conditions viewing through the screen is hit and miss. My previous cameras were bridge units and I find the flexibility of the Nex series so much more user friendly. The on-screen menu is easy to use and the available settings are amazing. If you are considering a step up to a camera which can give professional results without a professional price tag, then the Sony Alpha Nex range are well worth looking at. I would suggest the Nex-3, Nex-6 or Nex-7 since they have the eyepiece viewfinder.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Sony NEX 6 - cheap alternative to the A6000 lilne
Pre Sony a6000 this NEX 6 is an excellent cheap alternative APCS e-mount.
