Beautiful representation of "Litecoin" and what the future holds.
I purchased this item along with other currency versions as commemorative keep-sakes.
As Fiat currency systems begin to grind to a halt, the new Crypto-currency breed of value / transfer and store of value rise. As an item, it's of good quality, it's well made and pleasing.
Having items such as this to hand is a good way to start a conversation on what initially seems a complex monetary system. A VISUAL REPRESENTATION (such as this coin) is a good way to help open the minds and eyes of other people not yet involved or introduced to crypto currency.
Many Many people balk and say crypto currency is not REAL money ( and this particular item isn't, it's a commemorative depiction of a currency , but I guess stretching things, you could say the same of paper and metal money we already have, it has no actual value, other than the trust by us all that it has value and consensus exists to that end ).
What IS real money? where does it come from? who controls and prints or mints the 'visual representation' of it? What does it cost? Can a government or private bank devalue it or simply take it away ( yes ). Can the same be true of crypto currency? ( no ).
This crypto journey started publicly in 2009 and has slowly gathered pace.
Established Banks and institutions no longer mock or deride the technology behind it ( blockchain ), they now actively embrace and invest in it, touting it as the future.
This is the beginning, just like the start of cell phones, the start of the internet ( can you imagine life without the internet now? or access to a phone? )
There are and will be bumps along the way, just as there have been for every new 'thing'.
Adoption will continue to spread and one day you'll look back at this time, looking at your Commemorative Litecoin ( or other ) and chuckle, wondering how you ever managed without it.
