Small with good features and setup options

This product is very good but has the usual cisco setup with over the top pages, so would not recommend for anybody not familiar with voip and cisco configurations. The product works well once setup, great performance for price range.

  • Most critical review

    Economical Phone Adaptor

The adaptor works fine, delivery was prompt. Only one drawback is the power supply, it has a 2 pin shaver style outlet and did not include the uk 3 pin. This makes the connection clumsy and liable to keep cutting out as the plug adaptor is too heavy for the 2 pin style plug.

  • Release the landline shackles!

Having eventually got a decent fibre broadband line, thought high time to release myself from the shackles of having to pay landline phone costs but still wanted access to a landline for safety purposes. Consequently this provided the perfect solution linked with my old analogue DECT phones combined with a PAYG SIP service. Box relatively easy to configure, however having reset to factory settings before starting, did have to hunt down a regional setting to get the phone base station to actually ring. Config via embedded web browser relatively intuitive (if used to doing this sort of stuff) but use a laptop rather than trying to do via iPad or phone! Box seems robust and don’t see any long term reliability issues, only down side is you do need an Ethernet connection and additional 3-pin socket, but small price to pay for saving monthly landline charges!

  • Move from land line to IP telephony using this small box

Quality kit. Easy to set up using the web interface. I used the Sipgate VOIP service and now have two UK land line numbers presenting via this two line box. I have it wall mounted. You may need to source some analogue telephone adaptors (I have some in my parts box). The unit works well, runs silently and cool.

  • Serious little analogue telephone adaptor

I bought this to use with an Asterisk VOIP PBX. It wasn't too difficult to configure using the wizard, but it helps to have some previous experience configuring internet hardware. There are items written on the internet that provide guidance, so if unsure about having the required technical knowledge, read them first before buying. There are two telephone ports. To use with a UK telephone you will need an adaptor: RJ11 to BT phone socket. If you want the phone to ring, you will also need an ADSL 'microfilter'. It does not matter about ADSL, the filter contains the circuitry and wiring that allows the phone to ring when called. Rotary dial phones will not be able to call out with this adaptor, it needs to be a 'touch tone' (DTMF) phone to dial out.

  • VoIP adapter review

Wanted to retain my existing phones which had lots of saved numbers and suited us. The SPA 112 proved ideal and is working really well. A little time consuming to set up but we'll worth it.

  • Could be tricky to setup but wonderful in use

I’m really pleased with this but thankfully my VoIP provider gave me a specific guide for configuring this device. Otherwise it’s be tricky. In use it’s wonderful allowing me to use my standard dect phones with the VoIP service. The box is very tidy. The unit comes with a European socket but I am using it with a Poe adapter. The input is a standard barrel connector so a UK plug should be easy to obtain.

  • Unable to gain access to program the SPA122,

I tried a number of methods to login to the ATA including 1, unable to login in to the Cisco SPA122 as the default password and user names did not give me access. 2, Trying to use the reset button failed to put the Cisco back to the factory default passwords, 3, And final phone access via the phone port using the factory default reset code was not recognised.

  • Fab bit of kit, slightly tricky to set up if you're a beginner.

Very compact VOIP adaptor. Seems to work well with my Sky broadband service (which not all VOIP adaptors do). Somewhat complicated setup interface, but that's normal 'Cisco' - they always give you masses of options to fiddle with. Without a manual, it took me a few minutes to figure out where to put my SIP info to get it to work, but I'm an IT pro. Beginners might struggle a bit, but there's always Google!
