  • Best of the vintage early solidstate transceivers from yaesu

With all the optional filters, there isnt a better ham transceiver on the market. These are very user friendly, and easy to learn to use. Full 100 watt output on cw ssb, and 25 on AM, and 50 watts on FM. The bandwidth filter amd notch are amazing. These did not have any options other than filters and phone patch external speaker, because they already had the ability to work split frequency by using the memory feature. It also has a general coverage receiver, which works all modes and is very good. Audio reports are as good and better than all the other radios of this time, the early 80's. If you find one of these in good working order you will be very pleased. They weigh 40+ pounds and are a large boat anchor, but it has a button and knob for every feature plus features you will find on any new radio, except of course for pan scopes and the like. But really those things are not really needed. They are also easy to work on and are repairable if needed. They are getting to be 34 years old now and are still going strong, one of the keepers from when rsdios were built to last.
