So Far So Good
Have had print head for about a month. Looks identical and installs just like the original. Printer worked well until this week. Had not printed for 10 days or so. Now upon start, I have a print head error. Have removed and installed print head, cleaned with wet paper towel, no luck. May be the inks I am using - I have had them on the shelf for more than a year and they are refills. I will do some more cleaning before I give up on the print head. Wanted to keep this IP4000 printer as I like the individual ink supplies. May have to go shopping, or send out my photo printing. Did not wprk.
I was hoping this would revitalize my ip4000, but sadly it did not help. When I installed the printhead and ink cartridges, waited for the ink to charge the printhead, and printed a test page, the only thing on the page was a partial windows logo, no text at all. After running a cleaning procedure I did a nozzle check. There was no black ink and only faint magenta and cyan, no yellow. Tried a couple of more times, no difference. I removed the printhead and examined the nozzle areas with a pocket microscope and saw what looked like rust on the black ink area and on some of the color nozzles. I reckon that even though the unit was in a completely sealed package there must have been moisture in the package. . I'm disappointed because I loved that printer, but it's time to move on and look for a new one. Wish I could find one to use up my cartridges..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Canon MP Pixma 780 Printhead
This is a great value. I bought two because I've several of these units. I also ordered two more. The best thing about these Pixma units is the print head can be changed. Printer Repair Fix

Did what I needed!
The new print head proved that my printer has other gremlins. The new one occasionally works just like my old print head, so although I don't think this was my solution, it was worth the money to try it and fully functional when my printer decides it wants to print.
