It is not often when one needs a set of bicycle cranks that does not include the drive sprocket on the right arm. These are indeed unicycle Cranks with Square shaft. While Sunlite also offers these in "English Pin" type also known as "Cotter Pin" cranks. These are steel, not alloy and can take a brutal pounding. They are heavier than alloy. There is also a use for these for pedal powered equipment not requiring a bicycle drive Sprocket fixed to the right crank arm. I bought these for a special free wheel sprocket assembly I am using on a gas powered bike that uses a widened crank set. Since the drive sprocket is driven off the crank shaft and not the right side crank arm these cranks were PERFECT! In the event you are building a bike with a freewheel front sprocket here are your crank arms. The alloy arms tend to be a bit shorter when you can find them. These are six inches long or 2.5 ticks over 150mm. They fit 9/16" pedals. For what they are these are hard to beat and not expensive. Usually Sunlite products are pretty decent for what they are. They are an improvement over the parts used on Department Store bikes. These are NOT for regular bikes. They were intended for Unicycles but there are other applications these will work with like Specialty bicycle drives, modified bicycle drives, weird science projects using pedal power. Couple these to a decent set of budget pedals and you got a winning combination in human power that leaves you with money left for other parts you probably need for your project.
Pros: DURABLE, and they will fit center bracket axles with square shaft, not round. Chrome finish, and no need to modify for special applications.
Cons: HEAVY. Yes these are heavy for cranks.
