The weak spot in Black and Decker lawnmowers
On the plus side this part is easy to replace. All you need is a screwdriver. On the minus side this is the one part on my lawnmower that isn’t built to last. This switch will start to misbehave after two or three years. You can keep it working on your lawnmower for another two or three years by wedging in an American nickel in the plastic that houses the switch on the lawnmower handle (by doing this, the press button on the switch goes deeper in the switch when you turn it on). Eventually, though, this part will short out and you’ll have to buy a new one. I’ve replaced two so far.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The switch I purchased turned out to be a brand new piece of junk. I will buy another one from a different source.

Mower Part is just the Right thing!!

Simple fix for a fading mower
Plug and play ... worked like a charm! The rest of the mower shows its age (my MM575 Lawn Hog is about 15 years old), but replacing the switch made it work like it is supposed to again. (TIP: if the mower is shutting off intermittently until you push the handle in just right, it's probably the switch.)
