Classic late - 60's film
Set in the late-60's when the era of Love and Peace has turned into a soulless drive to get ahead at any cost - it had a big impact on audiences in the Cinema 50 years ago - stars Nicol Williamson as a ruthless salesman in London with family roots in Liverpool. Similar in its bleak mood to Get Carter - which came out a couple of years later - it is a well-written drama of culture/class conflicts at a time when getting ahead at any cost first became the rule. Compelling story with a brilliant ending!
