I bought this vintage electric skillet and it is wonderful. This cooks so much better than those lightweight aluminum things you buy nowadays. I actually bought an Webalco oil core electric skillet a couple of weeks after I bought this. The farberware was better (to me) than the oil core. The oil core skillet is smaller. Both are built to last a lifetime (an it is obvious). Both heat up quickly and over the entire bottom so cooking is even. But, for whatever reason, I had trouble cooking in the oil core. Everything burnt and stuck no matter what I've tried. The Farberware, however, didn't give me any problems. What do I like about both? The stainless cleaned so easily. I was afraid that they would be hard to wash, but both cleaned as if they were "non-stick" coated, which they are not. In a nutshell: 1. Both are immersible. 2. Both are well built (the Webalco is heavier). 3. Both are stainless and clean easily (only use non-scratch cleaners. I use Bon-Ami) 4. The Farberware is larger than the Webalco. This vintage Farberware electric fry pan is replacing my 25.00 aluminum electric fry pan & there is no comparison. With a 12" pan & dome lid you are not limited to what you can cook in it. The pan has Farberware aluminum clad on the bottom & it hold & distributes the heat very well. There is also a good range to temperature from simmer to very hot, & the knob is easy to control. You don't immerse this pan to wash. You put hot water in it & rinse & wipe it out. Use plenty of our & a correct heat, so the food does not burn. Then the pan will be easy to clean. It made the BEST pancakes ever!

This is so nicer and bigger then I expected...I love it! Nothing sticks and its stainless steel...I just preheat for a few minutes and it heats up really fast. I've had quite a few electric skillets and they never seem to get hot enough.....this one is awesome...I think vintage ware if in good condition are better made products. The sides of the pan are high so you don't get much splatter and the domed lid allows for roasts or whole chicken to cook....it's pretty enough to serve on a buffet table too...

My grandma had one and I bought one for each kid. Love the fact that it is totally submersible. Now I can stick it in my sink and scrub without worrying about ruining the electric’s. The domed lid is nice when cooking a chicken or roast.

Great skillet with full temperature control from 100 degrees on up. Both skillet & control arrived in great condition. Much better than anything from China.

This is one of the finest frying pan lids that ever existed. I should be in the frying pan Hall of Fame in Washington DC.
