This is a used, cleaned and repackaged seemingly genuine (or a good clone) Canon printhead sold as a brand new one. As such your mileage may vary. Upon opening cardboard box and the aluminum foil packaging the printhead shipped in, I immediately noticed it was damp and there were traces of ink. The printhead plastic itself was somewhat dirty and stained. The printhead I received worked (at least in the few days that have passed since I installed it on my old Pixma printer), but the performance was average at best -- and far worse than that of a new printhead from Canon. Sadly this particular printhead has been discontinued by Canon so repackaged and cleaned used heads like this one maybe your only choice if you want to keep your old Canon printer in operation.

First worked then broke
This item replaced the original ten year old malfunctioning print head. At first worked fine. I printed some test pages and some photos. Then i turned the printer off for a couple of days. When i switched the printer on again it displayed "Type of print head in incorrect. Install correct print head". I installed the original print head and the error was gone.
