The ball is not large, but it is ideal for me as I have medium towards small hands and can easily put the ball into my palm for one of the exercises. Having broke arm is three places by shoulder joint I was not able to use the hand or arm for over three months. Using the ball now has substantially increased the strength in my hand , fingers and thumb. So yes I would recommend this item as it has helped me a great deal
