Straightforward replacement for an ineffective seal.
This is quite a niche product review! Bought this one for about £10 rather than ones listed that were branded Thetford for double the price. The toilet cassette, (khaki green, made by Thetford), on my 1996 caravan was not sealing properly, either when turning the blade after use or when removing it for emptying. This is inconvenient at best and downright smelly in hot weather as those of you with a similar problem will testify. In many ways I was surprised to see how much more substantial this replacement was compared to the old seal which had obviously degraded over time and with wear. The seal is very easy to fit, there are 8 stainless steel screws to remove and then replace otherwise its a simple replacement, just take care to reassemble with the yellow arrowhead on the same side as it started on. There are instructions with the product but the last bit is omitted. Once replaced everything seems to be working again and the seal is now very effective. Might advise wearing disposable gloves to wear doing the job. Much cheaper to do it yourself than call a caravan repair firm out to site.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
