This is a Frank Capra film! That is all that is needed to be said for many lovers of the cinema.A Sicilian by birth, and a devoted Republican,it tells of Longfellow Deeds and the 20 million dollars he inherits and gives away to charity.Made in 1936,it has Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur as the principal actors. How I wish we had any actors half as good today/Look out for Capra's autobiography,;The Name Above The Title'.It is superb. This is from the Premium Collection, which, along with the BFI gives you a Bluray and DVD disc. The Bluray has very useful special features of Frank Capra Jr.recalling aspects of the film. You will also get an HD picture, instead of the usual SD/I resisted buying a Bluray Player for many years, but I obtained a Panasonic one ,along with a multiregion DVD for £50 on line.Quite a bargain, but worth it.I am now one of the Bluray community.Read full review
