Mixed results on different paints
Im editing this review from 1 to 4 stars ... using on a motorcycle frame, finished with a matte spray can layer with 2k original underneath. Be patient (my initial error) this stuff takes 15 mins+ to work even at 25c, and it has a faster effect on spray-can than 2k. I left the 2k for 30 minutes and re applied to keep it wet, another 30 mins and the paint literally fell off revealing gleaming shot blasted steel underneath, so it does work, but it’s quite slow, doesn’t work so well on all paints, and you need to re apply to keep it wet and working. You could use a lot of it. But it does get into the places a brush won’t, that alone is worth 1 of the 4 stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Useless on Polyurethane varnish
I bought the stripper to remove the varnish from a gretsch guitar. Followed the instructions on the can, waited for 15 minutes and found that the stripper had no effect at all. I am guessing that the varnish on the guitar is polyurethane, a very common finish. I would have thought that a product labelled 'varnish lacquer finish remover' should remove polyurethane. If it is not intended to remove polyurethane, then it should say so on the can. Generally I have found Hycote products to be excellent, however in this case it was very disappointing.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I purchased this stuff because I was respraying my ybr125 rear coot rests I was a bit unsure about using this because I have never heard of a gel paint stripper. I sprayed it on my foor rests and left them for 15mins like it said on the tin went back out after the 15 mins was up and was amazed at what it had done. It made it so much easier to fully strip them down and get them back to bare metal. I had to use it twice on one of the foot rests and used sandpaper to smoothn it all off. I would deffinatly recommende this product to anyone
