My daughter was a little underwhelmed by the stories which is why I’ve only given these books 4 stars. They’re not as entertaining as they could be mainly because of the tone they’re read in...this may just be the case with my child, but she likes emphasis and expressive tone when she’s read to. However it’s a good introduction to words and will be a go-to educational activity that will aid her learning to read.

You need the leapfrog system and if your child is just starting to learn to read you should have finished books 1-6 in the series. The books are now longer (35, 35, 25, 35 39, 43 pages, see photo) and have longer sentences. I would recommend having most of the common sight words memorized in order for the pace of reading to be maintained. Book 7 and 8 start with blending 2 consonants, this was a good challenge for my son and those two books have lasted a good 10-15 hours and we are still using them.
