This cooler was bought as a replacement for another well known make which did not fit snugly on the CPU, especially when it's considerable weight skewed it in a tower case configuration. The Arctic Freezer 34 is lighter in weight but still has a very effective heat sink. Fittings provided are versatile to allow your preferred orientation and access to the fastening screws is easy. This AF fan in my Core-I7 installation seldom needs to run at an audible speed so the case fans and GPU fans tend to be much louder. One problem during installation was that the nylon composite mounting frame which fits behind the motherboard did not quite have enough clearance to fit over the metal plate at the back of the cpu socket (LGA1151). If ignored this would have distorted the frame as it was tightened or even possibly damaged the motherboard. I worked on the long edges of the rectangular cut-out with some abrasive paper and removed a small amount of the composite material so that the frame fitted without undue force. This resulted in a very secure mounting allowing the heat sink to make form contact with the CPU. Temperature stability was noticeably improved when compared to the old cooler.Read full review

I am using Arctic Freezers more than 2 decades now. Them are extremely good, I usually do 5 star reviews, but this one wasn't really compatible with socket 2011 as described, screws and spacers was missing, but luckily I had some M4 at home and frame had holes where them should be. I still missing spacers, but it does the job well even without them, keeping processor on 36° under load
