    Glad I got it

It is really surprising. There is a learning curve with it but the videos can really help with that. About the third time out you will start getting the hang of it. The one shot zero is scary easy. As long as you stay on top of the focus you will be ok. The only problem I have is when you go past about 12x it starts getting really grainy at night. Its like the graininess you get when you blow up a picture on your phone. Overall its a good value and does what it says. In fact its like most computers and will probably do more than you can or need to. The videos it takes of the whole hunt complete with voice recording (you can turn off voice) are great. BTW I've got it on a 22 so I haven't used a lot of the ballistic and recoil activated features. I really like the WiFi feature that hooks up to an I pad or phone so a friend can see what you're looking at. Got to have that if anyone is with you or else they would be blind. One more thing. Use the video on updating and installing firmware exactly. I did because I got under the impression that mistakes can be made that can lead to problems. If you want to shoot at night, this is probably your best value for the money.

  • Most critical review

It’s okay for a night vision scope.

One shot zero is real nice. If you are using at 50 yards it’s great. It’s too pixelated to sight in at 100 yards. For some reason the brightness and quality of the night vision is not as good as the cheaper ltv version and it white washes too easy with very much ir light. The idea of saving different profiles is nice but it does not really retain zero when switching to a different gun/profile. It’s close but really needs re sighted in each time while switching to a different gun. That all said it’s a good entry level night vision with some neat features. Just don’t expect the same clarity and quality of a glass reticle.

  • Works about as good as the very first smart phones to come out. A few glitches but it still does the job.

The reviews I read were a little scary but so far so good. It pretty much does what I needed it to do in that it shoots 150 yards in the dark and I see and hit the target. All electronics are buggy to some degree but this scope seems to have more than average. So far I have been able to work through glitches and bugs by restarting the scope. I really do like the long battery life and the recording features are a plus and being able to put the scopes view on a monitor is really cool.

  • ATN 5-20X 4K Pro - Awesome!

ATN uses excellent optics, and added great features (Bluetooth, Wifi, one-shot calibration.) I found it the 4K Pro easy to set up, fairly easy to update the software and begin to use! Their technical support was responsive and knowledgeable. I would buy this item again. The only thing I would recommend is more detailed "how to" video support for using their great features.

  • Lots of cools feature - several issues, though

This scope has a great image during daytime, the battery life is great, and I like all the features. There are some issues to be aware of, though. Can't decide if I would have bought it knowing what I know now or not. 1) Firmware is buggy - it locks up regularly requiring holding the power button for 20 seconds to force a shutdown. So far this has only happened to me while configuring it. I have not had it lock up yet during normal use so hopefully this doesn't ruin a hunt. Hopefully, they will fix this in a future update. 2) Nightvision mode is fully dependent on illumination. Without the IR illuminator, it has less sensitivity than your own eyes when set to the maximum sensitivity. Even in partial moonlight, you will need to have the illuminator on. 3) The objective (big lens) is only about half the area of the barrel although the advertising images make it look like a fullsized lens (if you look closely, you can see the real (small) lens behind the shading added to make it look full sized). This, no doubt, is in part why the night vision sensitivity is so poor. It makes it look like a toy and I feel ripped off. :-( 4) It takes about seven seconds to turn on and be usable. This is a bit of an issue for me since my primary use is against coyotes when they raid my hen house. They don't give you much time so you have to be quick. 5) Buttons are flakey. The OK button often is interpreted as right arrow on mine. Makes navigating the menus rather frustrating. You can get a remote control which I've read works around this problem (I just ordered mine so cannot confirm) IOW: plan on buying a $80 remote control, too. 6) The gun cant indicator is not sensitive enough. You can have a lot of cant (more than enough to screw up your group) before it even registers a change. I am optimistic that many of these issues can be addressed in a future firmware update but suspect I am stuck with the poor night vision performance - it works great with lots of IR illumination so if you don't mind that then you're good. I have an older Pulsar day/night scope which, although it has it's own issues, it has far superior unaided night vision so maybe I'm just spoiled.

  • very good scope

the atn exsight 4k pro 5x20 is superb.Just finished setting it up.Had a few little hickups with it ,but more down to my lack of any experience with digital night vision than anything else. You do need to be computer literate as you do need to be able to download firmware. Cant get over how easy it is to use all the apps. would be nice to have somewhere in the uk where once purchased can be taken to be set up by an expert and shown just what this tool can do.

  • Not a bad night sight

I like my X-Sight 4k pro. Is it perfect? No. Is it as good as you can hope for in a consumer grade night sight? Hell yeah. It'll allow you to spot, identify and engage your targets safely out to 250 yards in absolute dark with the IR light coming with the scope. During daytime it's simply an amazing scope!

  • Models now shipping have new firmware!!

Only problem is firmware update is little difficult. Still working on it. ATN has responded in a timely manner with new instructions. Will try to update tomorrow. Also navigating the internal menu was difficult in the beginning. I now have a grasp of the full picture. Also wifi is only for interface with app and bluetooth is for accessory such as ATN laser range finder. Heavy piece. I like it. Just need it fully functional. Well here's a update. Firmware was good to begin with. So that fixed that. As for wifi you have use the app obsidian 4 for it to work right. I was using another version. Now everything is working. ATN guy was a little frustrated I could tell. Must catching same questions from every one. Anyway he helped. He also said if firmware number ended in 218 you were good to go.

  • ATN X-Sight

Good concept, essentially a day night camera in a scope body. Have not had a great deal of experience with it yet but I like the features. the instructions are a bit vague and you have to figure a few things out on your own, need to be a bit tech savvy. They son't tell you that you need a specific Micro SD card, an "HC" specifically and not larger than a 64G. Be ready for some challenges in the setup but again if you are smarter than me it should be no big deal.

  • Go Like a Pro

This was my first night vision purchase after much research. I added it to my AR for hog hunting purposes (at lease initially) The 5x-20x proved to be very useful in zeroing. The zeroing process is simple and accurate and saves a lot of money in ammunition trying to "walk in" your zero by multiple shots/adjustments. The scope is well-built. While it is a bit on the heavy side, I'm confident it will hold up to the wear and tear of active use and moving from gun to gun (I love the different profiles that you can set up and save). Day time clarity is very good (I'd give it a 8-9 out of 10) and the IR night vision is a 10. The supplied IR light is very good for its size and throws good visibility for 200yds. I added an extra green hog light (see picture) and the scope clarity with it was amazing. The ability for a second person to watch live what the shooter is seeing/doing with the shot is fantastic. That feature keeps my kids engaged and also greatly aids in zeroing in since you don't have to touch the gun while making the reticle adjustments. The menu system is simple and fairly intuitive. Batter life on the rechargeable scope (18hrs) and IR light is great. Being able to modify profiles and personalize the scope through a phone/table/ipad makes it very convenient. I zero'd in @ 40 yards for my hog hunt (distance to hog holds) and drilled 3 rounds in a spot barely wider than 1 round (less than the size of a dime). This scope is full-featured and "scalable" based on the skills/abilities of the shooter. It makes it easy for a novice to get set up and do the basics and with the input of ballistic data, you can dope the scope for much further, accurate shots. The micro SD card slot is a little inconvenient if you mount the IR light on the right side of the scope but since you don't have to access it often, I don't have an issue with it. I left mine on the R side to offset the additional light I added. Other than being a little on the heavy side (you are not going to shoot standing up a lot without the aid of a shooting stick) I have nothing negative to say and am tickled with this purchase. I've shot my first boar with it and will be hitting the woods with this scope again this weekend. 2 friends who I shared this info with have already purchased the exact same scope for themselves. ATN did a great job with this scope and all the features.
