BRILLIANT SHELVING - EXCELLENT BUY
Quite frankly this has to be the best value shevling on the market at the moment. The quality of the metal is excellent and it went together in under 30 minutes, (I will admit that this is the second set I have purchased so I knew what to do), and the fit of the separate pieces was second to none. The beauty of the system is that SHOULD you make a mistake, then a gentle tap with with the supplied mallet is all you need to release the piece and it can then be refitted. The shelving is good quality MDF and I have no reason to believe that it can't support the quoted maximum weight per shelf. I would recommend this without hesitation. I'd hate to see the standard duty!
I'd hate to see the standard duty! Maybe if bolted to the wall it could take 20-30kg per shelf, but I loaded the middle shelf with just bags of nuts and bolts and it became wobbly and unstable. Add to that the shelf material smells awful.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Overnight delivery great. They were relatively easy to assemble for my son and I. We watched the video step by step. We bought two to go alongside each other. The only tricky bit was connecting the two units together. Very happy bunny!
Compared to other products on the market this offers exceptional value for money. It's relatively easy to erect, although the accompanying video on the Storageaffairs website doesn't highlight the fact that if you don't keep the structure true when putting it up can become time-consuming and a right pain. The steel is good quality and the manufacturing standard is also excellent. Once erected the shelving is strong and stable (can vaguely recall that phrase having been used elsewhere in the past year or so, just can't remember where :-)). Am I pleased with it? Yes. Great value for money and fits it's intended purpose.
Like other reviewers, first impressions were that this Unit was too flimsy to carry the advertised loads but once assembled it turned out to be fairly rigid and had a substantial feel - more so than the individual components looked and felt like. The assembly instructions leave something to be desired but in the whole the assembly process is intuitive. In assembly the hammer provided, while not the only device which would work, is definitely a good tool to have. It was easier to fit the cross members into some of the uprights than others, no doubt a result of different manufacturing settings or machinery. If you find that a great deal of hammering is required to fit a member, I suggest you stop and look to make sure that the fitting tab is entering it's slot as it should do and not protruding through to the outside of the upright. The shelf supports are not too well designed but appear to work satisfactorily. When completed, to maintain rigidity and form, it is essential that the unit sits on level ground or the uprights are packed accordingly. I would recommend fixing the completed unit to a wall, particularly if assembled as vertical shelving rather than 'bench' format. Once mine was secured to the garage wall with four screws it became as solid as the proverbial rock. I have some heavy boxes stored and so far there is no sign of movement or other deformation. Overall, great value for money. Would I buy another? Yes, without doubt and will be when I move to the next stage of garage re-organisation.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I'm very happy with the garage shelving unit. It is easily robust enough and relatively easy to assemble. You just need to be careful when assembling that the tabs remain on the inside of the slots, but if a mistake is made they are easy to take out and straighten. Very Good quality for the price
I have had units similar to this from other suppliers so had an idea what to expect given it was described as extra Heavy Duty . The quality of the components , thickness of the metal and mdf shelves is exactly what I had expected and what I think is great value for this amount of money - its usefulness certainly outweighs the minimal cost. Only one shelf was very slightly bowed but when used the right way is easily "flattened" by the things I was storing ! The only poor thing about the package was the free mallet. It was a rather puny little hammer which I didn't bother using as I have a better rubber headed mallet which I used together with a piece of wood to avoid damaging the frame during construction.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Sturdy shelving - easy to put up.
Bought for garage shelving. Great design how it fits together with virtually no tools (only a hammer - which came with it!). Love the way, if you want to (as I did), you can buy more than one and stack higher or even lock together next to each other with the brackets provided. Brilliant for my craft room
