I bought mine for a GT550 and it has been a complete nightmare. The original plate has to filed back and modified. The connectors provided with the kit are pretty poor, that doesn't lend themselves to good secure connections. All cylinders spark at the same time, so the level of spark power is quite small compared to the previous contact breaker set up. Bought new coils, but that didn't improve the situation either. Left with a bike that runs on two or sometimes three cylinders! Waste of money and obviously made just for Kawasaki triples. I'm taking mine out and going back to original set up.
After hearing a lot of of negative comments about this not fitting the GT550, I decided to take a gamble, it’s pretty simple to fit if you follow the instructions and there’s a little modification required to the back plate but it’s worth it, my old 76 gt is starting and running better than ever
I’d highly recommend If you have basic mechanical knowledge
it works well. but the assembly is not easy to mount on the plate that needs to be modified should be better described. the final result is still good. another problem is the duty and taxes to be paid in Italy. € 50
Good product but needs more clarity on the initial static timing setting / setup. Not a straightforward installation. On the Suzuki install the original points back plate needs to be modified. This needs to be done very accurately.
