Cooks Well, Looks Great and Chucks out Heat, if Used Properly
Great chimenea come BBQ. We went to the bother of 'curing' it 3 times and placing builder's sand in the bottom of it; it hasn't cracked so would recommend 'curing' and sand (as per the instructions). Warms up reasonably quickly, then great at radiating heat efficiently; consumes surprisingly little wood for the space that it heats. Four adults can comfortably sit around it; guess 6 adults could squeeze around it. We found that 1kg of new lump-wood charcoal was much better for cooking then the old BBQ brickettes we had kicking around in the shed. Reasonably sized grill, with detachable handle. Smelled of paint the first few times we used it and the heat dulls the colour. Light enough to carry into the shed for storage when it has cooled down; although, it does have a lid to keep the rain out so guess it is intended for external storage. Well worth buying if you're in the market for a chimenea/ BBQ; we'd also advise you'll need a small volume of builder's sand and lump-wood charcoal. Small but sweet
Nothing not to like, but you MUST follow the instructions about curing the oven first. Lots of small fires before any big ones and layer the base with six centimetres of sand as insulation... This needs looking after. Build up the heat over time, until the over is too hot to touch five or six fires into the process. Beware, the heat slightly changes the colour, but that's natural.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
