Seems better than the orginal
I replaced the original keyless keypad that was installed 13 yrs ago. The new Marantec M13-631, I ordered took around an hour to install in the original location, had to drill some different holes. The new one covered the same area without having to repaint. It has magnetic sliding cover with a lighted keypad. Seems to be working fine. Installed it 3 or 4 weeks ago. A "must have" for the garage
I had an opener at my old house but my builder didn't install one at my new house. Much Improved Design
The old model needed an improvement in design and function and this seems to fit the bill. Although the instructions for set-up were a bit lacking, the device is sleeker, with led lighted buttons for night use and a smoothly functional outer cover. Greatly improved from the old device. Easy to program. Easier to use.
The Marantec garage door opener is by far the quietest garage door that I've ever operated. Whisper quiet. The downside is that my wife and I only had one remote for the system. So I bought a keypad for the garage. Programming this was a breeze. I could literally be in another country and program this keypad. But it is a necessity to have at least one garage door remote in order to program this. Just plug in the jumper wires and follow the easy instructions. Takes about 5 seconds. Didn't have to get up on a ladder to mess with the motor at all. The keypad is really nice quality as well. The cover slides up out of the way and stays in place with magnets. It feels solid. The button presses are very tactile and it is clear when you press a button, unlike cheaper keypads. Pressing 'Enter' without typing in the code will close the garage door. It is a wonderful device. The buttons are backlit when the cover is up but remain off when the cover is down. This helps extend battery life. The instructions say that the battery will last years before it needs to be replaced. That is very nice. Overall this was the best accessory that I could purchase for the garage door. I use this more than the standalone remotes since I am always moving my bicycle or motorcycle in and out of the garage.
