This Movie Was Made When Hollywood Was BIG
This is Hollywood movie making in its grandest form. It's a spectacular achievement from old Hollywood. It also cost a grand fortune to make in the days before CGI. The movie is very long but it's good enough that you don't notice it. Elizabeth Taylor was made for the part and Richard Burton pairs up with her very well. A classic that is even more enjoyable.
Having seen this movie on TV and on DVD some time ago, I wasn't expecting much change on the Blu-ray version. I was wrong. The difference is unreal. The color and sound were improved beyond measure. The crispness and clarity of the picture are excellent. The colors and detail are something to behold. I can't remember if I watched it on a flat screen for my last viewing, but it is unlikely.
