Penthouse the Movie
Penthouse is a stylish crime-gangster theme movie form the early 1930s. Warner Baxter plays a high society lawyer who gets his thrills by defending criminal-type characters. One such individual is played by Nat Pendleton who beats a murder charge (thanks to Baxter) and immediately adopts the lawyer as his friend. Myrna Loy doesn't appear until well into the movie - but she steals the show. She has been picked by Pendleton to help Baxter find the real killer of a woman who was apparently shot by Baxter's ex-girlfriends' new boyfrfiend. The Baxter-Pendleton scenes are highly entertaining, and the Baxter-Loy scenes are stimulating, engaging, and emotional. I liked this movie.

Thoroughly Entertaining
Myrna Loy is one of my favorite movie classics actors. Her role in this movie is unusual but she played it well. I love her everlasting cool, calm demeanor. The movie plot is quite original. Serious but humorous.
