They summed it up best themselves in a few words, and a safety pin.
I originally watched this movie when I was a kid (now 35) on vhs and thought it was hilarious and weird. When it came out on DVD I just wondered why it took so long, great movie, it includes you into the fun they were having at the time and that's what makes it special.
