Awesome World War II yarn
This movie is basically about all the unsung heroes. Starting with the black American tankers went to war in a little more than steel coffins. They pay tremendous homage to the M 18 hellcat which, Though it was not a tank ; it was a self-propelled gun and one of my favorites of the Armor inWorld War II. just four of these machines devastated countless German Panzers in the battle of the bulge. They did nothing less than save the day. At that time we were losing three Sherman tanks to every one that survived an encounter with one single panzer! The M18 Really turned the tide at the end of the war, and it was only limitedThis movie takes place in the last days of WWII following that.  they did nothing less than save the day. At that time we were losing three Sherman tanks to every one that survived an encounter with one single panzer! The M18 was able to reach the top speed of 55 mph which is something that even modern tanks connected. They had a powerful 76 mm antitank gun which would drill through any armor of the day, and they were powered by a powerful radial aircraft engine. The tank and only two week spots… Thin skin (a 50 caliber would cut right through it), and an open top, so they were vulnerable to an air burst. This thing’s natural defense is it speed and ability to turn quickly. I had an uncle in the battle of the bulge who told me that panzers were given credit for two kills if they took out M18. The movie is excellent and extremely accurate. I don’t know where they got all of the hellcats for this movie. I thought there was only one or two left in the entire world. The actors are largely unknowns and all delivered in excellent performance and rendition of The most incredible generation of Americans that did nothing less than save the world. It also illustrated some of the horrors that our troops faced fighting the Nazis. Excellent movie. Time well spent. It makes an excellent historical piece of the last days of World War II which are often blurred in the history books, the Heroes that didn’t get enough credit, and appointed time, during that war that most people know very little about.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

What a Good Movie!
What a great movie! I'm not reading true stories about WW2 or watching the movies because I seek out action, bloodshed, or violence, but to learn how and why something so horrible could have happened. As a female, this movie was particularly special to me because there was less bloody scenes and more story, and because part of the story happens to reflect that era's sad state of this nation's attitudes towards people of color. Today it is so hard to believe we didn’t see the irony of our thinking towards the Germans, but like nazis Germany's prejudice against the Jews, we were blinded by a few evil minded men from youth onward. The way out is the battle, and it takes God and a few courage men to win such battles; followed by some intelligent & righteous reasoning to grasp it firmly. In “The Void” (trying not to give away the ending) it was so refreshing to see good triumph over evil in more ways than the one. I'm not going to say any more to ruin the ending, but know that it is one of the best WW2 movies I've ever seen in all manner of Hollywood productions.
