  • The life history of an RAF bomber pilot

John Trotman tells his story in quite a low key way, although he completed 70 missions into enemy territory so his contribution to the war effort was not a small one. He flew twin engined aircraft, latterly with 40 of his trips in Mosquitos, his earlier ones were mostly in Wellingtons. The book details his life story from his boyhood until the present time, it tells of his return to flying when he gained a private pilot's licence at age 85. I was born in 1945, have had a few personal contacts with Bomber Command veterans in my earlier years and have read many books by and about them. This one gives a broader view of life for one of the their number, they are all heroes to me.
