something amazing happened in 1984: lesbian and gay activists raised money to help families affected by the British miners' strike of 1984, which became the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners campaign (source: Wikipedia) - which became the basis of the wonderful film "PRIDE". this soundtrack documents the richness and power and joy of a special moment in time when different groups of people who didn't think they liked each other came together for the sake of justice and the dignity of the miners. I purchased this because I wanted to hear the mesmerizing song "Bread and Roses" from the film again. but there is so so so much more to love.
