Bad Blake is approaching 60 and has a string of marriages and a successful career as a country music star behind him. His life now consists of little more than travelling alone from town to town to play in small bars, stay in dingy motels and enthusiastically imbibe a regular supply of alcohol. Then he meets journalist and single mother Jean Craddock, who is initially interested in him as a potential story, but it's not long before sexual chemistry ensures they are also an item.
