a must have for the keen gardener

A handy sprayer for the gardener who takes his gardening seriously. Its just the right size for most jobs around the average domestic garden. Its lightweight and works reliably. An essential piece of kit.

    It Works

Given the price of the product it seems fit for purpose. The bottle is robust but the Litre markings were very difficult to see, that was solved easily with a marker pen as the increments on the side of the bottle are raised. The plunger is a bit wobbly when extended and the 'o' ring that completes the seal inside looks quite thin and may not be that durable. ,however the vessel gets up to pressure with minimal pumping. The tube and sprayer arm are lightweight but have performed very well so far. The pressure relief valve performs exactly as it should with a simple lift with your fingers. So far I have use it on 5 occasions with about 20 litres in total Having had quite a few sprayers over the years that all seem to fail sooner or later, I see no reason not to recommend this product to anyone who wants a cheap, easy to use sprayer for home use.

  • Don't be tempted or you'll regret it.

It all started so well for the Kingfisher, I read an independent review of the best 10 sprayers and it won as the best for non-professional everyday home gardening use. Good price too at around £8. I had noticed a few negative comments but when you want to buy something these are easy to overlook - besides how can a simple sprayer not work? I now fully understand how a sprayer just does not work. There is a pressure relief valve aperture, a connection for the spraying hose and of course the main opening to put the liquid in - ALL 3 leak air! This means that as soon as the handle was pumped to pressurise the sprayer the air just came out with a loud hiss, I used water for testing purposes and was lucky to get a drip. I started with the pressure relief valve as the most likely source of leakage, what a poor cheap and nasty "design". There is a spring, not unlike that found in a biro, this is meant to push a plastic stopper into the opening to prevent air escaping, I took the spring out and stretched it, more and more, a bit more. By now it was not so easy to get it back into the valve - BOING! Spring gone, fired like a bullet from a gun, I didn't find it until the next day. So back to testing, hissssss, the liquid hose opening was leaking, a bit of PTFE and a lot of force to "over" tighten it (not easy as it is very close to the main opening which restricts grip) now only the sound of a few snakes hissing and a small spray of water! The main opening was leaking, this just needed a lot more (too much) tightening which means it's hard to undo when you've finished spraying / dripping. So anyway after this palaver I put some weed killer into it and it was ok for the job. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a review of anything but this device is just so poor that I felt it my duty to beg people to buy something else - anything else! Effort without reward.

  • Ok. Ut does lack spare washers

Haven't used this actual one yet but previous one I had was excellent. Only problem I found is you can't get replacement washers and when it begins to fail to keep pressure. Shame to have to throw away a perfectly good machine when all it needs is a few new washers,

  • Easy to use sprayer

Using this sprayer is so easy, I have arthritis in my hands and I can't use the normal spray bottles as they hurt my hands, this is so easy to use, I highly recommend it.

  • Useless right from the start

The product itself looked well made and of decent quality. After putting the parts together, I tried a few quick pumps to build up a little pressure and when I pressed the trigger, the pressure escaped very slowly. I decided to fill it with water to see if things would improve. After pumping the handle to the recommended pressure, I released the trigger to a sound of air being released from the nozzle with no liquid at all and this only lasted for literally a few seconds. I repeated this several times with the same results and decided that it needed to be returned as it was unfit for purpose.

  • Kingfisher pressure sprayer

Total rubbish. Do not buy this product, it requires constant pumping to maintain any usable pressure at all. I will never buy another Kingfisher product ever again. This being the third purchase. You would think I should have learned my lesson. I have now! previous purchases were a Kingfisher Leaf blower Used twice and the gears broke. a Kingfisher rotary clothes dryer that needed a nut and bolt added to make it stay up, then it finally snapped and the washing hit the ground. Nil points for all three Kingfisher products.

  • Ok for the dosh!

I’ve used lots of more expensive sprayers and cheaper versions (buy lots for work projects) this one is okay for the £££. There are some with better handle locking functions to lift without slippage. There are a few leaks that do develop over time but it just needs tightened.

  • Disappointing performance.

The packaging is very good...but the performance of the product is very disappointing. There is not a great deal of pressure even when you continue pumping. The carry strap serves very little purpose and is uncomfortable when the unit is full of water. Overall quality could be a lot better although the container is OK. This is sold as a pressure sprayer...but lacks pressure!!
