  • Great board functionality wise, would be nice however if it had a header for Individual Drive activity LED's.

Controller works well where, for workstation use, has a quick boot time (relative to other raid controllers currently on the market) and works with Windows 10. Disadvantages are, is kinda persnickety relative to what drives you can attach. If your thinking about using one of these cards with drives you might already have on hand, download and review the drive "compatibility list" before purchasing. Would also be a good idea to check your motherboard compatibility for this controller as is not compatible with a lot of boards currently on the market. Second issue is - board has only an aggregate LED drive indicator. IE: One led for all drives. If you require LED indication for individual drive activity - you need a secondary board that understands the I2C buss interface this board has. I did some basic searching for such a board with no luck. Thus if you require individual drive activity LED's, get the 9650se board instead. I bought this board to test compatiblity/functionality with older motherboards running nVidia's 980a chipset and Windows 10, Seems to work reasonably well (M4N98TD-EVO & M4N82 Deluxe) except for sleep issues - again in Windows 10. Still attempting to determine if there is a way to get the systems to Wake from sleep properly with these boards, with somewhat mixed results. For the most part, it does what I want it to do, and system Wake from Sleep issues are not a serious detriment.
