Mondeo with P0403/P0405/P0409 code(s)? buy one of these
Most Mondeo TDCI (Euro IV) owners will have been plagued with problems with their EGR. Even after cleaning the valve part you may still get error codes like P0403, P0405 & P04049 when the car has a scan-tool plugged in. I did quite a bit of research and testing before buying this cover as I wanted to make sure the harness wiring and plug weren't causing the issue. They looked good and I noticed when doing simple resistance tests between the 5 pins on the EGR socket that the results were all over the place so I figured a new cover (with socket) was the answer. It's very easy to fit and my codes haven't came back. So I would advise anyone with this Mondeo and these codes to check the readings and if they aren't good buy one of these. You should get continuity between pins #1 & #5 when the cover is on the EGR. My pictures show the readings you should get between pins #2, #4 & #6
