This elegant fragrance offers an unusual marriage of different aromatic notes of rosewood, lavender and clary sage that serves to introduce cedar, amber and some animalic notes that are surprising and even acrid but serve to create a kind of olefactory 'platform' for the dry down which is refined and sustained by patchouli. That animalic note is almost unpleasant but it quickly metamorphoses into something that compels me to keep sniffing my arm - where I tested the fragrance with a spritz. Davidoff being a tobacco house, I expected tobacco but found a fragrance that would help smokers enormously to subdue the vile waft that usually attaches to them.
