This Maidstone and District bu livery tends to be known as “sash” livery.
The livery was first introduced on 10 Volvo B6 saloons (3601-3610) for Tunbridge Wells in 1994, followed by another batch for Maidstone (3614-3619) in 1995.
The earlier Dennis Darts carried the same bodywork (Plaxton Pointer) and several were repainted into sash livery, including 3467 which is the subject of this model.
Aside from that a double deck version of the livery was applied to several ECW bodied Leyland Olympian coaches used on route 101 along with branding for that route , and finally a blue and yellow version was applied to Northern Counties bodied Olympians 5891 and 5898 to promote M.I.S.T. ( Maidstone Initiative For Sustainable Transport).
So the time period period represented by this model is 1994-1997, after which a new identity for M&D was launched under British Bus ownership.
