Have used on 2 chains to date, but before that I tried it out on some old chain links - so before being used in anger it’s split 10 or so links and rivetted 3 old links. How have I found it ? Well it’s a great bit of kit, has easy to follow instructions, is sturdy and does not bend pins as other products I’ve owned have done. In summary, it’s not made of chocolate, is easy to use and I think I’ll see many years of use from this splitter / rivetter.

Good value is always subjective depending on your budget. The feel and quality of this tool is great. Would recommend using extra length spanners to improve leverage and reduce the risk of the tool slipping under applied pressure. Spares are available - which for me is value in itself. It's the best I've found in design and overall quality. Worth still grinding the old rivet flange, regardless of what the blurb might say.

Don’t buy cheap chain tools. If you’re serious about motorcycle repairs then you need the best tools. This chain tool is easy to use & does a perfect job. This chain tool is well made & heavy duty It should be the last one I buy.

I did not use this to remove the chain as I had already ground the old one off following an uncessesfull attempt to use a cheaper tool that I subsequently returned. This one seems to have done the job of rivetting the new chain and link in place properly. First time for me so I took my time and followed the video on the Motion Pro website.

Best chain tool I have ever used period. Have used it to replace chains in a KTM1290 Superduke GT, a Ducati 998s and a Panigale 1299s so far and cannot fault it. Great piece of kit and one I will keep with me for many years to come. Highly recommended
