Having had some wiring done in a property, we discovered that the surface-run trunking had been installed in such a way, that there was a noticeable gap between the trunking and the 2 gang socket. I ordered this spacer to try to rectify the problem and I have to say, it did the job superbly! The only problem I ran into, was that the original face plate fitting screws were too short and I had to obtain longer ones. However, that is nothing to do with the spacer itself, which is very well made, very well-priced AND arrived earlier than I expected! All in all, the service I received for this item was first - class and if I need items like this in future, I know where I will be ordering from!

This is well made, it is just not quite what you need. The screw hole lugs are too proud to allow the socket to sit flush with it easily. They should be thinner really. You can force it to sit flush, but then you are putting everything under stress and that it not good with a socket.

These are great little bits of kit to allow a USB faceplate to fit a slim backbox without having to replace the backbox with a deeper one. I have used these in all rooms where I have shallow backboxes to allow me to have USB faceplates, for the price they are a no brainer IMO.

Good idea if back box isnt deep enough, or box to low and skirting will prevent the plugs from fitting correctly. or to many cables behind stopping the socket from fitting with ease...
