does exactly (and efficiently) what it says on the tin
My new combination microwave and oven, when using the oven facility had no indicator that it was up to temperature. The Kitchen Craft adheres to the outside of the oven magnetically; the cable for the sensor is flexible enough to fit inside the oven; and the thermometer issues a loud beep to tell you it is up to temperature - everything that the manufacturer of my oven should have fitted - but didn't.
