Excellent for the money.
Ideal for kitchen, as I think cooking fumes could clog a HEPA filter.
It sounds like a kettle starting to heat up, so I'm not sure it would be suitable for a living room or bedroom. Putting it behind a door, or settee would probably help.
In summer, the water evaporates quickly and needs topping up daily. So you probably need it where you can see it. I don't think there's a cut out, if it runs dry.
Tobacco tar seems to build up on the underside of the lid, so you know it's pulling smoke through. The water gets cloudy in a few hours, with everything else.
I don't use any fragrances in it, but I'm sure it deoderises the air, anyway.
Overall, I'm very impressed with it indeed. It's very low powered so cheap to run, as well as to buy.
My advice, from experience is to spend as much as you can, or a low wattage/low noise purifier, for your bedroom or lounge, and get one of these for non living areas.
If you've only got twenty quid then just get one of these. You might not notice the noise like I do.
An excellent, clever, and cheap little device.
