Pure creamy quality
This is the only product for my daughters sensitive skin. Excellent quality, no grit (as there has been in others) and not such a pungent smell (again as there has been in others). Comes in a good sized tight seal container, perfect for regular use and keeps the butter dust free. Very pleased and will be a returning customer.

Feed Your Skin
Shea Butter is a prime ingredient in many (expensive) skin care products, so this is a fantastic purchase. I've been using tubs of organic shea butter for years. It's like feeding your skin. This formulation is thick and heavy. You need to warm it in your hands, or place the tub on a (lukewarm) radiator. I like to layer it on, until my skin is sticky and let it sink in overnight. It gives your skin a wonderful shine, if you want to use a little before an occasion. It has been very effective for healing surgery scars. For me, a breast reconstruction (Diep Flap) plus the initial mastectomy. My husband smoothed it on every day for a year and surgeons commented on how well the skin healed. You can also use shea butter like this as a lip salve in the house, if you run out, or as a facial or hand moisturiser. Your skin does get used to this natural form of hydration. And if you do start using unrefined shea butter, you will find it hard to switch to another body cream, as these will not feel as effective.

Exactly what I was after
I'd been on the lookout for good quality Shea Butter ever since I read about it's effectiveness as a natural moisturiser a while ago. Having bought several Naissance products in the past, and been pleased with them, I thought I'd give their Shea offering a try too. The price seemed very reasonable, so that was attractive. It arrives in a large white plastic tub (which has a lot of re-use potential!) that's aroun 20cm in diameter and about 11cm deep. The Shea Butter was cut into one large oblong block inside, with a couple of smaller slivers alongside to make up the 1kg weight. So internal presentation isn't anything to speak about, but it's simple and practical. The product itself is great. A lot of people have described Shea has having a slightly "smoky" aroma, and I'd say that's about right - I really like it personally. It's very dense and solid in its raw state. This isn't something you can smear on your skin out of the tub. It's a bit like ice cream straight from the freezer. Uh, but without the coldness and anticipation of a sweet treat. I've found that if you cut off a chunk with a knife, and then give it a good pounding in a pestle and mortar it becomes much softer, more malleable and easier to work with. But I expect you could just drop it in a blender and achieve much the same effect with less arm work. To my concoction I added a bit of coconut oil, which gave a nice creamy texture. And then I just apply it to the skin. It leaves a fairly of a shiny complexion, so I'd probably not go out with it on, but it's cooling and pleasant on the skin at home. Will definitely buy again.

Purchased Shea butter for my psoriasis and it helps moisturise skin but it like everything else, you must keep putting it on! I like how it works quickly and easily, with very little amount needed. It's early days yet but, it is working well! Good value for money, can do and use for alerts! Lovely!!
