The cold shoe screw is too short, unscrew slightly to install any accessory and the clamp falls apart along with the two small springs. Swapped it with the umbrella screw which is slightly longer, carefully drilled the clamp to accomodate the extra length, now everything is good. At this price point don't expect it to last, i'm only using as a quick solution for small lights and gear that doesn't weigh much.

Although this is of a lightweight construction, predominantly plastic, it was purchased as an addition to the metal variety I have. The price was cheap in comparison and, as you would expect, so is the construction and its apparent strength. The securing and locking screws that tighten onto the plastic are not secure, the hot shoe clamp is catching on protruding screws from the mounting plate beneath so will need some work to remove these faults before use. Overall, I am somewhat disappointed with this item and most likely, only use it in desperation when all else fails. You can get the metal type for around three times the price but delivery is from outside the UK.

Seemed like a great price but very poor build materials. The metal screws which clamp the flash in place stripped the threads of the plastic with very little effort. I ended up having to use epoxy and some metal nuts just to make them functional. Spend more on metal clamps and save yourself having an expensive failure which could result in damage to your speedlights.
