Extra long flex cable for light security duty
For light duty security, this extra long flex cable is really good to wrap in and around your frame, saddle and wheels. The only downside? it has that awful Chinese chemical plastic smell (out gassing), which if stored in a back pack might well transfer to clothing etc.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great item
We use this to extend our bike cable lock this lets us lock ALL 5 bikes together when we are away. The issue (its a plus and minus) is the coils are tight and make it hard to work through the bike wheels BUT the up side is this makes it easy to store as it returns to the coiled up shape. Not as advertised

Heavy duty but compact security cable.
I bought this as an to theft cable for my portable solar panels for my caravan. The cable is coiled tightly and awkward to manage. However, I solved the problem by securing one end to a caravan steady leg (or looped over the A frame near the tow hitch) and securing with a padlock through the cable eye and over the cable length. With one end of the cable anchored to the caravan I then unwind (untwist) the coiled cable whilst slowly walking away from the caravan. By uncoiling the cable under tension the shape of the cable loops is maintained. The other looped end of the cable is looped around the solar panel legs and secured with a padlock in the same way as attached at the caravan. Ie hook the padlock shank through the cable eye and hook it over cable, then close the padlock. This method can be used to attach any 2 objects where you may want to use the full length of the security cable. When removing the security cable, keep the cable under tension and allow the cable to restore its naturally coiled shape by releasing the tension on the cable whilst slowly walking towards the other anchored end of the cable whilst twisting the cable in the direction that naturally restores the original shape of the coil. I secure the cable to the solusing a padlock at each end of the cable.
