Nice and tight. No flopping about.
From the picture I suspected that knives would drop in and flop about in the slots but I was wrong. Knives are held firmly. I'm using a big carving knife down to a peeling knife and a pair of scissors. They are all secure and stay where I put them. I'm yet to find out if it cleans which is the reason for buying this type as apposed to the thin vertical rod type which said it could be cleaned but fell apart and never went back together properly. The Grunwerg storage block is solid, well made and the wood is put together well. It's not tacky or cheap.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
