Good quality headphones and fantastic sound
One of the best quality headphones out there at this price. I use this for both for radio and other DJ work with an excellent frequency response. I owned another pair which I sadly damaged but there are certainly not easily damaged one of the strongest pair i've had it took a lot of force to break. I also think Sony have improved the bass response even more and at other sound frequencies. Once bought these will certainly last you for some time my previous pair were probably around 5 years old or so but would be around still if it wasn't for sheer stupidity on their breakage. These definitely beat several other far more expensive pairs i've used in the past running into 3 figure sums.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

cable length
the old version of these had a cable that would allow you to actually look for your records(coiled cable that would extend to about 10 ft) ...the cable on the new ones is about 2ft long and doesn't stretch ,means you have to take your headphones of to even turn round ,so no use at all for dj'n ,also they come with a mini jack socket and no adapter ...so again virtually no use whatsoever for a dj mixers headphone socket ....all in all i wish i had read the product description a bit more ,because these are useless for my purposes and ill have to buy some other version ...or an adapter plug and an extension cable ...bit of a pain ...**dj style** does not mean they are any use for dj'n withVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Headphones
Having been looking for a pair of good sounding headphones, these have come up trumps. The bass is very good without the usual "booming effect" and there is no loss or crispness across the whole range, and they give a very clean/clear sound. My taste of music ranges from church organ to the older pops and these headphones takes this huge variation in their stride. I have found them lightweight and comfortable. Very good headphones for djing

Very close to the original v500s
I had a pair of the original v500s for over 10 years when they finally gave way and snapped at the hinges, I loved them pair so much but have now just got a pair of the v55s and they are so so close to the v500s the only difference is the cord that is flat and a lot shorter than the originals but that dousnt bother me as its not as short as other reviews have said and if that dous bother you then you can get an extension or change out the wire for the original wire with a bit of skill and patiance, the ear cups are more of an over ear cup un-like the v500s but there is a huge choice of replacement ear cups on here that would cup your ear better or even swap them out with the originals if you have an old broken pair of v500s like I have, all in all these are a really good replacement for your beloved v500s.
