Great sounding older radio- get the later model
These are nice sounding and looking radios. There are two models of the Evoke 1S the older one with a square usb socket (type B) and a later one with a mini type B. The older one which has an Osram display is difficult to service as you have to remove screening cans that are soldered to the board to even change the display. The RIT display will work but you will loose 8 pixels on the right hand side. They are also prone to not powering up except on a battery. This seems to be a AS3654 chip failure which is very difficult to buy and replace. The newer model uses the RIT OLED display available on Alibaba which is easy to change without any soldering.Verified purchase: Yes

Good quality radio
In fairness it is a good radio. How ever it gives me sme stations which are in the 'Shires' up North which is of no use to me in London. Also maybe it is my work place but the signal is not very good. When I am at home, the signal is perfect. So I decided to keep it in the kitchen for when I want to listen to my favourite sations on DAB. Other than that I have had to buy another DAB radio for work as they have turned off the music but the quality is not the same. Evoke is a very good brand.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A little beauty
If you want relaxing sound quality and good looks, good quality display, not the slightest harshness, get one of these. If you, like me, believe that stereo makes music live, and that stereo is much more than twice as good as mono, get the extra speaker and plug it in, at least 6 feet from the radio on the right. You will be richly rewarded. I have repaired many of this particular model - it MUST be the Pure Evoke 1S (It must have both the '1' AND the 'S'...important important important!) A great little radio, I have made a present of 9 of these now and their recipients are all delighted.

Pure Evoke Mio Adaptor
I bought a new adaptor for my pure evoke mio digital radio on ebay! It was hardly used & a fraction of the price of one from the manufacturer. I have other Pure radios and always find them to be excellent. This one is serving as a bedside radio. I like the fact that you can store multiple stations and select them easily from the storage buttons. Liked the battery use
have a number of DAB radios this is good as it is battery operated and therefore more mobile. Purchase did not include PSU but could be bought quite cheaply (£4). Came with charge so I could use it whilst PSU arrived. At maximum volume needs to have a good charge but then as you can move it with you why have it loud. Probably the best portable digital radio
This radio is brilliant. We have found other digital radios don't really work here in a deep valley, but this one is fine all over the house and it is easy to set up and use with a clear and helpful display, and that is compared to a newer Pure Evoke model which will only work on FM, is difficult to set up and has a less clear display.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good product for its age.

Superb DAB radio - great reception and classic design.
Our Evoke DAB radio gave great service over 15 years, but then lost its display. Seeing this one on sale 'for parts' (PSU Missing) gave me the idea to make one good one out of two. Didn't need to do that as it worked perfectly after plugging it in using our old PSU. A fab product that we're looking forward to using for the next 15 years!
