This time the Decepticon leader confronts his sworn enemy in battle, Optimus Prime, in the body of a jet that can be considered nothing less than a warship. In just a few steps, this Transformers Energon Megatron action figure turns from robot to a power-packed flying machine and comes prepared to fight with a host of fire power. As a collector’s item, the larger size 10-inch Hasbro Transformers Energon Megatron Action Figure makes a great addition. The toy’s body design features off white plastic throughout the jet and various dark and light blue hues covering the wings, and is topped off with dark grey. In vehicle mode, Transformers Energon Megatron is capable of unlocking the inner struggle on the battlefield in style. Can his power be held in check against Transformers hero Optimus Prime? Just lift the jet wings up for hyper or attack mode and get extra guns to take out the enemy. The lime green guns, along with the high-impact electronic sounds and colorful lights of the toy, make Megatron’s display of strength more realistic. Get ready for air to air fights with the Energon tank equipped with a cannon, or mini-con figure that attaches to his back. Deploy the mini-con as an additional fighter. Mini-cons are often sold separately. During a heated air to ground exchange, just activate an arsenal of power by pushing the tank’s button for a quick release of the Energon sword complete with a slash and burn sound effect. Once Megatron hits the ground, it is the toy’s clever transformation from vehicle to robot that makes him the ultimate power against the Optimus Prime allies. First, remove the tank and fold in the landing gear. Flip the cockpit back and swing the wings up so they detach from the boosters. Swing the boosters out to each side, flicking up the rear boosters while doing so. Slide the rear booster ends in a downward motion until the robot’s feet move out and flip open. When his arms show, pull them out to the sides and then swing his head back. Reattach the tank to the arms for the ground battle by flipping out the clips on the bottom and snapping them onto the lower arm. This is where the Generation One Decepticon look and feel comes in to fight. Megatron’s head and cannon are both designed to mirror the Generation One Galvatron cartoon. An underrated figure
One thing about this figure that may turn away most people is its blockiness. For me, the feeling of nostalgia of playing with these blocky figures is what puts Energon Megatron in a special place in my collection. His look is very Galvatron/Unicron like and matches with the character of Megatron on the show (to be honest, I believe that he is the best character in the cartoon, despite its traumatic flaws).
