The Breville VKJ472 polished stainless steel jug kettle combines modern design with practical performance. It is 1.8 kilowatts (kW) and has a concealed element. This makes it easier to clean and more energy efficient than an immersed element, requiring a lower minimum water level in order to function safely. It has a capacity of 1 litre (l) and so can accommodate about four cups--ideal for couples or individuals living alone. Similarly, it is compact and so is travel ready and best suited for use in caravans or smaller living spaces. The VKJ472 is designed with a rear water level gauge indicating water level to help you fill the kettle to the desired amount and the switch illuminates blue on boiling giving your kettle a sophisticated style. Good for smaller amounts of water boiling & easy to lift/pour
This is a replacement for 1 i'd had for about 8 - 9 years, so i'd searched for same model/make, as i'd liked it so much. As it smaller - only boils I ltr it's lighter/easier to lift. NOT as good as previous model !
Our previous 1 litre brevilie had better features: 1) Level of water is now much harder to see as clear section much narrower and behind handle now; 2) spout largely blocked by metal bands, filling area in front of plastic filter, so hot water spills out of lid when filling a mug; 3) Much noisier when heating water than other ever was. Neutral changes are: handle used to have gap at bottom and now joined at top and bottom; ON switch's light has gone blue.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A great kettle
I bought this kettle to replace one that is exactly the same, just an older model. My old one I thought, was on it's last legs, however it just goes on and on, so new one is still sitting in it's box!! My old one is now about 12 years old, and as I said just keeps on doing it's job just as it should.
