ISY LUB resin remover for hedge cutters and chainsaws

Wow, this stuff really works! I've tried soaking the hedge cutter blade in white spirit overnight as advised online, but it made not one scrap of difference so I left it 24 hours and still nothing. I left it another two days and I can honestly say that there was no softening whatsoever and it absolutely didn't work in any way. I bought this Iso Lub with no great expectations, but I literally sprayed it on and hosed it straight off. Like new - I'm not kidding! Okay so I sprayed a second coat on the severely encrusted bit, but we're talking about two and a half years of build-up of Leylandii resin gone solid - the worst test - and it just washed off like dirt. Heed the instructions is my best advice, because it's nasty stuff and if you're careless you could get some severe burns. There's also nothing to tell you what to do after you've sprayed the cutters, so I used a paint brush at first expecting to have to do some work, but it brushed straight through to bright metal on the first stroke, so I got the hose out and just washed it away. It also just washed straight out of my brush. I cannot recommend it highly enough and it's so much cheaper than the Stihl version.

  • Better that expected.

I have used the spray on an electric headge cutter on hedges and pine. It seems very pro-active on application and foams on the blade. The blade is actually cleaner now than it was when I started to use the product. For those who do not know, it is very imortant to use this type of product on the cutter, as I had a hedge cutter burn out due to neglecting to do this. I bought this product because I could not find the one I used previously, but will order it again as it is superior, and does the job very well. It is a good idea to apply the spray two or three times during use, and to apply before putting the cutter away.

  • Bigger size package. Works well

Larger size tin than most other similar products i.e. Stihl. Appears to work well enough and does the job

  • Excellent Stuff

Tried this for the first time, first spray didn’t do much then I remembered reading you have to use a brush, grabbed a clean paint brush to agitate the foam spray and removed several years worth of resin and green staining from hedge cutting. Not sure how good the lubricating properties are as will only know after a couple of uses, but as far as cleaning the blades goes it works brilliantly and effortlessly as long as you agitate the foam after spraying. Shame it’s so pricey!

  • Better than anticipated.

Bought to try and clean sap and resins from hedge trimmer and secateur blades. Sprayed it on, left for several minutes then saw it had dissolved much of the months worth of deposits. Second application and a bit of wiping with a cloth did the trick, blades now resin free. Will now use regularly between clients as clean blades cut better.

  • Brilliant resin remover

Certainly removes conifer resin from the blades like no other product I’ve tried. Smells like oven cleaner so must have similar chemicals. The only complaint is the lack of instructions either on the can or online. I spray this stuff on, leave it for a few seconds then wipe off. After this I oil the blades with GT85. Don’t know if this is the correct method.

  • Resin remover

Product worked in 3 to 4 seconds it removed all the build up of resin on my saws and router bits one,one second burst it foams up and if you rotate the blade by hand it runs around the teeth of your saw. Wait 30 seconds and wipe the blade clean with a rag make sure your machines are turned off and unpluged

  • Not quite as easy to use as I expected

It works well to remove the resin but being a foam I found it harder to apply evenly than using a liquid spray. Will get it again when needed.
