I needed something to stack along side of my TS that did not overpower the sound of the other pedal or sound too thick on its own. This pedal sounds fantastic with single coil pickups and pairs extremely well with other OD pedals. I like the fact it can run on either battery, 9V, or 18V AC connections, making this a great choice if you have limited ports on your power supply. On its own, it stands out very well when dialing up the drive settings and it sounds absolutely great coming through a properly dimed tube amplifier. It is no coincidence you see these pedals on the boards of many great professional players... This box just has excellent tone and all their products are handmade in the USA with plenty of care involved--making them a quality purchase. I am looking at collecting a couple of other earlier versions as some have tonal differences that work better with other set ups. Overall very satisfied with this purchase. Read full review

The Fulltone OCD version 1.7 gives me a range of tonal options which I love... from a no-gain boost effect to the full throttle distortion that make the OCD a classic pedal. I tend to work somewhere in the middle to lower gain on the OCD along with a compressor and a great fuzz (Analogman BiComp, orig. Thorpy muffroom cloud) to achieve the sounds I want depending ( of course) on Guitar/Pick-ups/ amp and room used. Highly recommend the Fulltone OCD.

Just a great overdrive/distortion that can cover just about all genres of music. Made in the USA and very reasonable. From a clean boost to all out dirt. It's very responsive to your picking attack. Great addition to any pedalboard

Well constructed. Look inside and you will see no sloppy work at all. Easy to use. On light is bright enough to be easily seen on a dark stage. Whether you like the sound it produces is largely a matter of taste. I am very pleased with it snd I’ve had a lot of similar pedals.

This is one of the best overdrive pedals there is. It goes from just boost to heavy drive. It has a very smooth sounding drive, not grainy sounding like most overdrives. It is very well constructed, with a heavy casing. Also one of the best features is the is assembled in America.

Well, what HASN'T been said about the OCD at this point? I surprise myself that after years and years, I FINALLY picked one up .... the v 1.7 in this case. I will chime in by saying that this is an absolutely killer pedal. At near-to-off Drive, the volume / tone interaction gives you a great clean to slightly gritty boost; the Drive pot has a good near-linear taper, and will move you from basic clean through the range to bluesy, classic to modern rock, and on to high gain, while notes and chords say surprisingly distinct. Everything in your chain BEFORE the OCD gets real nice and juicy -- everything AFTER the OCD sounds loud and bold. The LP/HP toggle is useful for setting the base level of grit. Again, I can't imagine any serious player NOT having experienced the OCD somewhere in his/her history (unlike myself !), but just in case there's a few of you out there, do not hesitate to give one a go, especially at this amazing price. The OCD will stand neck-to-neck against most any other pedal of its kind, and will make virtually any guitar sing with reckFULL abandon.Read full review

This is a great pedal! Awesome engineering as Fulltone products has always delivered. I mean, excellent tone, true bypass, high-end quality materials make it very reliable and dependable. This overdrive pedal is very sensitive and delivers as it should. I can say that it's the hottest OD pedal in the market (as of today). Super creamy and powerful yet clear OD tones, 2 great settigs on the toggle (HP nad LP) and the Drive knob goes a million levels! It's also very small and will not take a lot of space in your board. Just another little beast on the hurd. I actually believe this pedal will exceed all your expectations. You can use it on 9V or 18V. I use it with 9V (as my pedalboard has only 9V capabilities) but I can tell you: you have no need for the 18V! This little beast rocks! You will not be dissappointed at all. Ships fast. Highly recommended.Read full review
I have another riot pedal that is 3x the cost of this OCD pedal and I have to say the OCD has a better sound. It’s a bargain and the build quality is top notch. I’m really glad this box was recommended by a friend. Clean gain, full and bold sound.

I mainly play Blues, and I really concentrate on tone to get the feel of the music across. I'm no hardware freak, either, as my gear is pretty simple: a Strat V5, a Tele, and 3 pedals: the OCD; a BossTremolo and Tuner, feeding my Fender amp. The OCD was VIGOROUSLY recommended to me by a friend, to the point that I ended up buying one new, unseen and unheard. I couldn't be happier: it is SO much more musical than ANY other Dist. pedal that I've heard or tried out. To me, the most important thing is that my guitar has to SOUND like a guitar, with all the emotion that entails, and NEVER like a fuzzy, distorted who-knows-what. Mission accomplished! I actually used to think that I would never own any Dist. pedal, but the Fulltone OCD has opened up the range of what I can do with my guiar playing.Read full review

Loud (up to 20db gain according to manual) with plenty of distortion even with 9V power. I’d put the default tone somewhere in modern country/classic rock territory. Not warm & fuzzy like a blues driver. But if you’re looking for a little more rawness, this is a great pedal that will really enhance your tone.
