Great performance for the price
I bought this primarily for worldwide shortwave listening, using an external wire antenna. Works superbly, picking up stations from around the world. Really easy to use - just type in the frequency of the station. Also like the manual tuning knob option if you just want to search for a station manually like on the traditional radio sets. New receiver
I've been wanting to get a PL-660 for some time. I have a PL-600. The 660 is a lot better than the 600, the sensitivity and sound quality are really good. The addition of USB and LSB settings are really handy for ham and HF aircraft listening. I wouldn't;t say the build quality is as good as a higher end portable receiver, but it is adequate for the price. It doesn't seem to overload as badly as the 600 did, but I do suffer from high QRM.
